Woman killed and two more people injured in morning collision

A woman has died and two more people have been injured following a two-vehicle collision this morning.

The incident took place on the N4 at Bunbrosna, approximately three miles west of Mullingar in Co Westmeath, at 9.20am.

Gardai are now investigating the collision and have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The deceased was the sole occupant of the car, while a man and a woman were travelling in the second car. The man and woman were both taken to hospital.

The N4 at Bunbrosna is currently closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardai have local diversions in place.
