A woman aged in her 30s has died after the car she was driving in collided with an SUV.
The collision occurred on the R628, Castlelyons to Conna road at approximately 8:30am this morning.
The female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital.
The male driver of the SUV, aged in his late 30s, was injured in the collision and he was brought to Cork University Hospital where he is believed to be in a stable condition.
The road remains closed to facilitate a forensic collision investigation and local diversions are in place.
