Woman injured by brick thrown through the window of a Dublin bus
A woman has been brought to hospital following an incident on the 49a in Knocklyon, Dublin yesterday evening.
At approximately 9.30pm, a brick came through the window of the bus, hitting a female occupant in the head.
According to eyewitnesses, the brick was thrown through the window as the bus pulled away from a stop on the Firhouse Road.
Gardai were called to the scene and the unidentified woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Dublin Bus offiicials today told Independent.ie: "The woman was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. Dublin Bus is investigating and assisting Gardai in the matter."
Bus users were forced to get off the bus and walk to the nearest bus stop.
According to another eyewitness, the victim was "just on her way to work" and suffered a cut on her face.
