Woman dies of injuries after road crash

A woman who was left with serious injuries following a collision with a truck in Celbridge, Co Kildare, last month has died.

The 36-year-old driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at Naas General Hospital last night.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the accident, or anyone with information about the incident, to contact them. The accident took place at Newtown Road, around 9.30am on December 28. It involved the car the woman was driving and a truck. There were no other injuries reported.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact them at Leixlip garda station on 01 666 7800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1 800 666 111 or any garda station.

The death is the second road fatality so far this year.
