
A WOMAN has been killed in a four-car collision in Carlow.
The incident happened at at Knockloe, Tullow at approximately 6.10pm last night.
A 61-year-old female passenger in one of the cars was seriously injured, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
"She was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem is expected to be carried out later today," a garda spokesman said.
The male driver (71) of that car was also injured and was taken to St Luke's hospital for treatment. The male driver(45) of a second car was also was taken to St Luke's hospital for treatment. The drivers - a man (29) and a woman (28) - of the other two cars were uninjured. They were the sole occupants of their cars.
The R725 Tullow to Shilleagh road was closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and has since re-opened.
