Woman charged with Galway murder is given bail
A 30-year-old woman accused of the murder of a man in a Galway apartment, has been granted bail.
Maura Thornton, with an address at Upper Salthill, Galway, was remanded in custody after being charged last week with murdering Kevin Joyce (59), of Co Mayo, at an apartment in Salthill on July 31st.
The victim had been stabbed several times, a post-mortem on his body found.
Thornton appeared at Dublin District Court today where Judge Denis McLoughlin heard that bail had been granted to her at a sitting of the High Court at Cloverhill yesterday.
She was remanded in custody with consent to bail to appear again at Dublin District Court on August 22nd.
Ms Thornton, wearing a black jacket, purple top and grey trousers, did not speak during the brief hearing.
