Woman arrested after cocaine seizure

Cocaine with an estimated street value of €140,000 has been seized by gardai.

A woman in her 20s was arrested when the drugs when the seizure was made during a planned search of  a premises in Lucan at about 7pm last night.

She has since been released from Garda custody without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A Garda spokesman said the seizure of two kilos of suspected cocaine was made during an on-going intelligence led operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in West Dublin.

The drugs are being analysed.

”These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks,” said a Garda spokesman.

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities.

“Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
