A special installation has brought the moon to Cork as part of the city's Midsummer Festival.

Students marvelled yesterday at the Museum of the Moon at Nexus Hall, Cork Institute of Technology (CIT).

Lorna Drumm, Ida Weber and Sophie Murphy from Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh, Cailíní, got a glimpse of the impressive sight.

The installation will be in place and open for public viewing until tomorrow.

It coincides with the International Space University's 30th Annual Space Studies Programme hosted by CIT.

The event is sponsored by O'Flynn Exhams Solicitors along with JCD Group and Urban Green Private.
