Winner of €38.9m jackpot comes forward - but 'won't be going public'
The holder of the €38.9m EuroMillions winning ticket has officially made contact with the National Lottery.
While the lucky winner has not been identified, arrangements are now being made to guide the individual or syndicate through the life-changing process.
"The winner has made contact with us and we are making arrangements for the claim to be processed," said spokesperson Miriam O'Donohoe. "They will not be going public.
"We can't say if it's one individual or a syndicate, but we can confirm that it's the winning ticket and we will be in touch with them right throughout the week and guide them through the process.
"They will then be back in to get the cheque and make the claim formally."
Earlier yesterday, it was revealed the winning ticket was bought in Dublin.
The store's exact location won't be revealed until tomorrow.
