Gardaí in Limerick have seized a car after discovering the driver was disqualified, the insurance was eight years out of date and some of the discs were from a different vehicle.

The car also had no NCT or valid tax discs on display and was seized by the Traffic Corps on Tuesday.

"Well, where do we start with this one?" said the post on the Garda Síochána - Cork, Kerry & Limerick - Southern Region – Facebook page.

The driver is due to appear in court at a later date.

A number of bizarre  driving offences have been reported by gardai in the past week.

Gardaí in Cork seized a Kerry registered car that was displaying discs for a Dublin registered car.

Meanwhile, in Waterford, a car was seized after a driver with no licence, tax, insurance or NCT broke a red light in front of a patrol car.

Gardaí have urged motorists to "obey the rules of the road".
