Banks set to raise customer charges and physiotherapist receives €1m payout from HSE following fall on icy steps. Here's what it says in the papers:

‘Banks set to raise charges in fresh blow to customers’ reads the front page of today’s Irish Independent. Ulster Bank boss has warned that charges for customers are too low and are set to rise significantly, Donal O’Donovan reports.

‘Airport stoppages to spark passenger mayhem’ the Irish Examiner leads with this morning ahead of the strike at Aer Lingus and airports nationwide on March 14. A four-hour stoppage by workers could ground hundreds of thousands of passengers just days before St.Patrick’s Day, the newspaper reports.

‘On-the-runs inquiry has no power to question Blair’s role’ writes the Irish Times. The paper reports that Downing Street has claimed the decision to write to IRA fugitives cannot be investigated. Tony Blair was the British MP at the time of the decision to tell up to 200 IRA members if they were wanted for prosecution in the UK.

Physiotherapist Nilofar Ikram dominates the front pages of the Irish Examiner and Irish Daily Star  this morning. ‘€1m for icy steps fall’ reads the Irish Daily Mirror. The physiotherapist, who slipped on icy steps outside a Dublin hospital, has won more than €1 million in damages from the HSE.

‘Claudia’s €1million indecent proposal’ reads the front of the Irish Daily Mirror. The newspaper reports that the supermodel has revealed she turned down the offer of marriage from an Arab prince, among other bizarre proposal s she has received since she hit the world headlines as a model.

‘Rehab CEO entitled to a €84k bonus’ reads the Irish Examiner. The head of Ireland’s biggest disability charity, Angela Kerins, told the Public Accounts Committee yesterday that she is entitled to an €84,000 a year bonus and independent experts claim her €240,000 pay should be 20 per cent higher.

Finally, the front page of the Irish Sun this morning reads, ‘Oscar’s blade stunner’. The newspaper reveal the photo of the reported new girlfriend of Oscar Pistorius, who is awaiting trial for the alleged murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last year. The South African is reported to be dating 19-year-old trainee paramedic Leah Skye Malan.
