A FARM owned by bankrupt Westlife star Shane Filan and his family is to be auctioned off next month, for less than half of what was paid for it.

The pop star and property developer bought the 146-acre farm with his father Peter and brother Finbarr for around €1.3m.

But the guide price for the land near Dromahair in Co Leitrim – which includes a large period house – is €500,000 at next month's auction.

It is one of five properties being sold by Gunne estate agents in Sligo on behalf of receiver Declan Taite of RSM Farrell Grant Sparks.

It was revealed last month that Filan's Co Sligo mansion – once worth €3m – is also for sale for less than €1m.
