Weekend Lotto heading for €3m

The weekend Lotto jackpot is heading for €3m after last night's draw failed to produce a winner. The numbers were 6, 7, 28, 30, 35 and 45. The bonus was 18.

There was no winner of the top €350,000 prize in the Lotto Plus 1. The numbers were 2, 4, 9, 31, 33 and 37. The bonus was 13. There was no winner of the top €250,000 prize in the Lotto Plus 2. The numbers were 8, 9, 15, 20, 25 and 38. The bonus was 4.

Irish soldier will be buried today

A YOUNG Irish soldier who survived a deployment with his British regiment to war-torn Afghanistan only to be killed in a freak firing range accident in Wales will be buried today.

Ranger Michael Maguire will be buried with full honours after noon Requiem Mass at St Joseph's Church in Coomhola outside Bantry, Co Cork, today.

Man (75) dies in single-car crash

A 75-year-old man died in a single-vehicle road smash near his home yesterday. He was named locally as John Maloney.

His car left the road at 3.25pm at Lagganstown Lower, Co Tipperary, before hitting a ditch.

The sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cahir garda station on 052 7445630.
