THE weather will continue to be unsettled over the next seven days.

Tonight will be cold with a widespread frost.

Showers will continue near west coasts, but elsewhere it will be mainly dry.

Frost will clear on Sunday morning and much of the day will be dry and bright.

Monday will be mainly dry with outbreaks of sunshine as well.

However, another spell of wet and windy weather is set to develop again early on Monday night.

Tuesday will be breezy with occasional showers for the rest of New Year's Eve and into the night also.

New Year's Day will be unsettled, with further showers and strong winds.
