We have entered Age of Aquarius
"When the Moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars. Then peace will guide the planets, and love will steer the stars."
These words are taken from the song Aquarius from the 1967 rock musical Hair, and they refer to one of the most important cosmic alignments to have occurred this century. And just in case you didn't notice, it happened yesterday at 7.25am and lasted for 18 minutes.
If the significance of the event escaped you, let me explain. There are 12 astrological ages, each representing a period of 2,150 years. According to some astrologers, we are now leaving a Piscean-influenced society, and are entering the Age of Aquarius.
This is denoted by yesterday's rare astrological concentration, which brought together a number of planets with the North Node, the site of higher purpose in the cosmos. The alignment is thought to energise and inspire the possibility for transcendental breakthrough and healing from now on.
Our mood is sombre nationally, as recession, financial worries and unemployment fears dominate our thoughts. Others around the world fear starvation, war and genocide.
However, the Age of Aquarius is believed to bring about a shift in mood, action and intention that will encourage powerful healing change in the world. And with President Obama in power, this could be one of the first indicators of positive change.
Astrologers called on people around the world to spiritually send out their own intention for love and peace during the Aquarian alignment yesterday. The hope was that it would energise a wave of intention that will surge around the Earth and bring about healing.
Of course, as yesterday was St Valentine's Day, it may have been forces other than rare astrological concentrations that energised you that early in the morning. Horizontal alignments may have been more on the agenda, given the day that was in it.
