Watch: Some of the lengths punters are going to for a pint in Dublin on Good Friday

Today may be the final Good Friday on which the sale of alcohol in Ireland is banned - with new legislation expected to end the ban before next year.

And so today may be the final time to take advantage of the system by taking advantage of one of the loopholes... not, of course, that Independent.ie would condone that kind of thing.

But, as well as the option of booking into a hotel, perhaps, or going to the greyhound tracks (both legitimate ways to get booze), you can also take a trip.

Booking a trip on a train (must be an intercity trip of 40km or more), plane, or ferry and you can drink to your heart’s delight.

And these punters at Connolly Station in Dublin were taking advantage to have a drink in the station's bar after getting access with a train ticket.
