Video footage of a heated roadside altercation between two drivers last week has gone viral - with almost 300,000 views on social media.

The incident took place at a junction of the A3 Northway in Portadown, Northern Ireland last Friday afternoon.

The video shows one man in a high-visibility vest, believed to be a lorry driver, punching and kicking the side of a red car before the vehicle's driver steps out to try and punch him.

He is seen aiming a blow at the lorry driver, but the younger man counters with a right hook - sending him to the ground in the middle of busy traffic.

After shakily getting to his feet, the driver of the red car attempts to continue the fight but is prevented by three other road users.

A PSNI spokesperson said at: "The male driver of a car was allegedly struck in the face by the driver of an articulated lorry close to the junction shortly before 4pm.

"A 59-year-old man was subsequently treated in hospital for a cut lip. Police are now investigating the matter."
