This is the moment a security guard tussled with a woman outside a popular city centre store.

The clip, recorded at around 4pm on Wednesday, July 6, shows a violent exchange between the security guard and a woman outside the St Stephen’s Green branch of H&M.

In the video, the two can be seen struggling over a handbag, as the woman tries to escape.

In the clip the woman can be heard screaming: “Let go please, let go of my f****** bag now, let go of my bag I said."

She later screamed: “Take your hands off it and I’ll open it.”

The woman can be seen pulling the bag further up the street, while the security guard roughly tries to steer her back towards the shop.

Eventually, the guard manages to drag her back inside the store with the help of a shop assistant.

An eyewitness told that the incident quickly attracted a crowd.

“I heard it before I saw it,” he said, describing how he was locking his bike as he was struck by the sound of shouting behind him," he said.

“There were so many people watching, and I thought it could have been handled in a different manner. It wasn’t an everyday occurrence anyway.”

A spokesperson for H&M said the company is investigating the incident.
