There is a definite winter feel to the weather this weekend and further proof has been provided by footage from Ireland's highest peak.

This video, posted on Facebook by Kerry Climbing, shows Carrauntoohil in Kerry getting its 'first dusting of snow this season'.

The 1,039m peak is Ireland's highest mountain, and it is surrounded by three spectacular valleys.

The spectacular clip shows the summit under a thin blanket of snow, as temperatures dip down to freezing.

On Tuesday, temperatures are forecast to go into minus figures on the mountain with more snow forecast.

The rest of the country should see an upturn in temperatures over the coming days, with Met Eireann forecasting a mixture of sunshine and showers for the week ahead.
