WATCH: Final session of Citizens' Assembly votes to amend Constitution on abortion Newsdesk Newsdesk

The final session of the Citizens' Assembly has voted by 87pc to 13pc to amend the Constitution on abortion.

This weekend's Assembly is made up of 91 eligible voters, according to the ballot.

The Assembly have been deliberating on the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution since last October.

They are now voting on a sequential ballot this weekend at the session at the Grand Hotel Malahide.

The options include repealing the Eighth Amendment, replacing it or retaining it as it is.

The first vote is just the start of a series of votes this weekend.

They are expected to announce their final recommendations on how the Government should address the issue of abortion tomorrow.

A press conference is expected to be held immediately after the Citizens’ Assembly proceedings finish.
