Vomiting bug forces hospitals to restrict visits
THE winter vomiting bug has returned, with visiting restrictions imposed in two Dublin hospitals.
Members of the public have been urged to avoid visits to Beaumont or St Joseph's Hospital in Raheny unless absolutely essential.
Hospital authorities said visiting restrictions in the hospitals had been brought in as a preventative measure to contain an outbreak of Norovirus.
Essential visits should take place between 6pm and 8pm, with one visitor per patient only, and children will not be permitted into the hospital.
Meanwhile, visitors have been asked to stay away from the hospital if they have had vomiting or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours.
