Volunteers in Lourdes 'abandoned' by Ryanair
A group of 80 Irish volunteers who had travelled to Lourdes were stranded in France after their flight home to Dublin was unexpectedly cancelled by Ryanair.
The group, which included dozens of teenagers, had been on a volunteering trip with the Oblate Youth Service caring for the sick and elderly in Lourdes.
Their flight back to Dublin on Saturday afternoon was cancelled and they were told to make their own travel arrangements back to Ireland.
Fidelma Roe, whose son is a member of the group, said they were "pretty much abandoned" by Ryanair.
