Vita Cortex workers to meet LRC over redundancy payments dispute
VITA Cortex workers, who have been involved in a 100 day sit in, have accepted an invitation from the Labour Relations Commission to meet in the dispute over redundancy payments.
Director of Conciliation Services at the LRC, Kevin Foley, issued the invitation to see if the long-running standoff between the staff and their former employer Jack Ronan can be resolved.
This is the third intervention by the LRC in the dispute.
Mr Foley said he believes “meaningful” engagement could end the row despite earlier failures.
The workers will mark the 100th day of their sit-in at the former foam manufacturing plant on the Kinsale Road tomorrow.
