ALLAN Dixon became an instant hit Down Under when he won the ‘Best Job in the World’ competition.

But the Dubliner’s charm has got an Aussie newsreader into trouble after her co-anchor tried to set them up on a date – giving her a case of the giggles live on air.

Natasha Exelby, Channel Ten newsreader, continued to laugh during a serious news broadcast after flirting with Mr Dixon, saying "Maybe he will get to be one lucky little leprechaun".

Her co-anchor Mat Doran is seen trying to do a bit of match-making while speaking to Mr Dixon about his success in winning the job, asking him: “Do you see yourself with an Aussie wife one day?”

“An Aussie job and an Aussie wife, we’re looking after you in this country aren’t we?” he joked.

However that is where the fun should have ended, because Ms Exelby began her news broadcast on the Brazilian riots and a building collapsing in India with fatalities. But she couldn’t stop laughing and later went on to apologies to anyone who was offended.

Mr Dixon is to be as an 'Outback Adventurer' in Australia's Northern Territory.

The Dubliner beat thousands of competitors for the dream gig, which will see him "getting up close and personal with Australia’s wildlife, journeying through the outback, meeting the locals and discovering exciting new adventures for young travellers", according to the job description.
