Video: Aengus Mac Grianna suffers another embarrassing slip-up live on television

IT has not been the easiest couple of months for Aengus Mac Grianna while presenting the main nightly television bulletin on RTE.

Last month the vastly-experienced newsman struggled when reading a report on the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission and simply stopped during the live broadcast, before starting again with the clip going viral on YouTube.

Ever the professional, the much-liked presenter somehow managed to keep the show on the road on that occasion - and did so again last night despite suffering an arguably more-embarrassing slip-up.

As a news clip was being played, the always well turned-out journalist was applying some make up to his face to make sure he looked his best.

But when the clip ended and the cameras went ‘live’ in the RTE studio, nobody told the presenter who continued to apply the make-up and then started to fix his tie.

Eventually someone got in his ear to tell him what’s happening – and his subsequent look of utter shock has made this clip another viral sensation.

But yet again, Mr Mac Grianna managed to keep it together to present the rest of the bulletin.
