Viable explosive device made safe in Clare

THE army bomb disposal team made safe a viable Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Tulla, Co Clare last night.

The team were deployed to the Main Street in Tulla at around 11pm with the area cordoned off and local residents were evacuated to a safe location.

The device, which was located in a private residence, was made safe on-site and has been handed over to Gardai in order to assist them in their investigation.
