VHI hospital ad was misleading

THE VHI has been reprimanded for implying that patients with health insurance will get better treatment at public A&E facilities.

The Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland (ASAI) upheld a complaint from a GP regarding an ad featuring an injured football player which implied he got better or preferential treatment at A&E because he had private health insurance.

The ASAI upheld complaints against a Denny ad showing GAA supporters standing on a bus. It was claimed this condoned unsafe practices.
