Leopardstown Racecourse will be turned into a running track as part of a fundraising initiative organised by Dublin transition year students.

The 5K 4KENYA open run is organised by transition year pupils at Blackrock College and will raise funds for the completion of a building project at Sultan Hamud School in Machakos, Kenya.

Former Blackrock pupils Leinster flanker Jordi Murphy and Dublin GAA star Cian O'Sullivan joined Olympic champion Ronnie Delany to mark the launch of the event, which takes place on Sunday, March 26, at 11am.

Participants will run a 5km route, with the emphasis on fun and participation. To register, visit www.fitlive.ie/5k4kenya.
