TWO people arrested over the suspicious gun death of a man in a flat have been released without charge.

Gary O'Brien, aged in his 50s and originally from Finglas, north Dublin was found dead in the property on the North Circular Road a week ago after suffering a gun shot wound to the head.

Gardai said a man and a woman, both aged in their 30s, who were detained in connection with his death were released and a file was being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are continuing to appeal to the public for information, the Garda press office said.

The inquiry centred on whether Mr O'Brien had died by suicide and whether anyone else was in the flat around the time he died.
