Detectives are questioning two men after seizing cocaine with a street value of a quarter of a million euro.

The drugs haul was uncovered during a raid on a flat on Leinster Road, Rathmines, in south Dublin, on Monday evening.

The two suspects - both aged in their 20s - were arrested at the scene and taken to Rathmines and Terenure Garda stations.

They are being held under section two of the Drug Trafficking Act.

The cocaine has been sent for forensic analysis.

Gardai said the operation was carried out as part of an investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Terenure and Rathmines.
