Two men charged in connnection with probe into reports of shots being fired

Two men, 19 and 31 years, have been charged in connection with an investigation into reports of shots being fired in Co Meath on Friday night.

The shots were fired at a location at Readstown, Summerhill, County Meath, and a firearm and ammunition were seized following a Garda operation yesterday.

The 31-year-old man is due to appear before District Court 1, Criminal Courts of Justice, Dublin tomorrow at 10.30am. He remains in Garda custody.

The 19-year-old man has been released from Garda custody and is due to appear before Trim District Court at a later date.

The two men were arrested yesterday afternoon and were both detained at Trim Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.
