Two men arrested following Dublin shop raid

TWO men who fled empty-handed following an attempted robbery of a shop are in garda custody this morning.

The men, aged in their 30s, were arrested following a search at a house on Grove Park in Rathmines this morning.

They are being held for questioning following an attempted robbery at a shop on the Lower Rathmines Road in Dublin on Thursday evening.

The suspects entered the shop wearing masks around 6:20pm and threatened a shop assistant with a screwdriver before demanding cash.

A struggle ensued and the men fled empty-handed.

They are being held for questioning at the Rathmines garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The investigation is continuing.
