Two men arrested after 'causing havoc' on train after Tipperary-Cork match
Gardaí arrested two men after an incident on a train following the Tipperary-Cork match in Thurles on Sunday.
It is understood a group of Cork fans who boarded the Dublin-Tralee train in Thurles "caused havoc" on board.
A fellow passenger on the train described the behaviour as "extremely unacceptable".
"They got on the train at Thurles and just caused havoc for everyone," he told Independent.ie.
"I was unlucky enough to be in the carriage where the trouble was happening.
"I had to get up and change seats and sit next to an old lady who was frightened.
"This is totally unacceptable."
Gardaí attended the scene at Limerick Junction Railway Station when the train stopped there shortly before 9pm.
They confirmed to Independent.ie that two men, aged in their twenties and thirties, were arrested for public order offences.
Gardaí said in a statement; "Both men have since been released and are expected to appear before Tipperary District Court in the coming weeks charged in connection with the incident."
