Two men are killed in single-vehicle crashes
TWO men were killed in single-car crashes over the weekend.
A 35-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving crashed on the Clane-Kilcock road at around 9.25am yesterday.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the morgue at Naas.
Two other male passengers, aged 49 and 24, were taken to Tallaght Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident happened about four miles outside Clane.
The road was closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
Meanwhile in Co Cork, a 40-year-old man may have crashed his car into a wall 10 hours before his body was discovered, it has emerged.
John Foran, of Sleepy Hollow, Skeagh, Skibbereen, Co Cork, died in a single-vehicle accident at Adrigole Bridge in Co Cork, on the R572 Bantry to Castletownbere road.
It is thought that the crash happened between 2am and 3am on Saturday. However, it is understood the crash scene may have been undiscovered for up to 10 hours.
The body of the father of two was not discovered at the scene until shortly before lunchtime on Saturday.
Local diversions were put in place in the area to facilitate garda forensic collision investigators.
A post-mortem examination will take place on today at Cork University Hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and gardai are appealing for any witnesses who may have travelled on the R572 at Adrigole Bridge between 2am and 12pm on Saturday to contact Bantry garda station.
