Two men and one woman arrested following discovery of cannabis and handgun during Garda raids

Three people have been arrested following a series of Garda raids in Co Kerry this morning.

Approximately €177,000 worth of cannabis along with a handgun and ammunition were seized by Gardai as part of an operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Kerry area.

A man in is 30’s and a female in her 20’s were arrested in an initial raid at a house in Fanit at around 1am this morning.

Gardai from Tralee carried out a planned search and found cannabis plants worth an estimated street value of €37,000 along with a handgun, ammunition and a bullet proof vest.

The pair are currently detained at Tralee Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

A second man (aged 29) was arrested during a follow-up search two hours later.

Gardai found cannabis plants and leaves worth €140,000 at a house in Barrow Wes, Ardfert.

He is currently detained at Listowel Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
