Two men (40s) arrested as gardai seize cannabis and €21k in cash

Gardai have arrested two men after the discovery of cannabis worth €5,000 and cash at a premises in Dublin south city centre.
Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €5,000 was seized when gardaí stopped and searched a van in the Kevin Street area on Wednesday afternoon.
Two men aged in their 40s were arrested at the scene.
In follow up searches gardaí located and seized €21,000 cash at a residence also in the Kevin Street area.
The arrested men were detained at Kilmainham Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
One of the men was charged in connection with the investigation and is due to appear before Dublin District Court at a later date.
The second man was released from garda custody without charge.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The operation was led by detective and uniform gardaí attached to Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda stations.
