Two held in NI probe

GARDAI investigating the murder of a prison officer in the North last year have arrested two men for questioning.

David Black was shot dead by members of the New IRA alliance near Lurgan, Co Armagh, in November last year as he drove to work at Maghaberry jail near Lisburn, Co Antrim. Special Branch officers raided the home of one of the suspects in Carrigallen, Co Leitrim, and another in the Cavan area.

GARDAI are seeking the public's help in tracing a teenage boy who has been missing for almost a week.

Last seen in the Fairview area of north Dublin, Leon Quirke is described as 6' tall, with a thin build, brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clontarf garda station on 01 666 4800 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

RYAN Tubridy's 'Late Late Toy Show' has become the most watched programme this year, with an average of 1.4 million watching RTE's annual toyfest. The programme was also in high demand from Irish viewers overseas, as the RTE Player recorded over 120,000 stream requests to watch the festive show over the weekend.
