Gardaí seized heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of €4m following searches at two Dublin locations.

The searches were carried out yesterday evening by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau in the Clondalkin and Ballyfermot areas of the city.

During the course of the searches, heroin and cocaine were seized.

Two men were arrested and were being detained by gardaí last night.

Separately, more than €100,000 of cannabis plants were seized by gardaí following a planned search at a house in Co Longford.

The discovery was made on Thursday at around 7.30pm by officers from the Roscommon/Longford Divisional Drugs Unit as well as local gardaí.

A woman in her 40s was arrested at the scene.

She was later brought to Roscommon garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
