Two bikers killed

TWO motorcyclists have been killed in separate accidents in Wicklow and Cork.

The first occurred at 1.50pm yesterday outside Roundwood, Co Wicklow, when a 50-year-old biker lost his life and two other people were injured.

In the second tragedy, a motorcyclist in his 20s died in a single vehicle accident on the Cork-Macroom road. The accident occurred shortly after 5pm at Garryhesta outside Ovens, 8km from Cork city. The motorcyclist was killed instantly after coming off his bike and suffering horrific head injuries.

TWO men will this morning appear in court to be charged in connection with a burglary that ended in a dramatic high speed chase with gardai.

At around 5.30pm on Saturday a lone man entered Farrell's on Main Street, Ballinalee, Co Longford, and stole a sum of money. The thief then left the scene and got into a waiting car with two other occupants. However it was eventually stopped on the M4 motorway near Mullingar, with the assistance of local garda units.

A BODY has been found in a burnt-out car in the Carlingford area of Co Louth.

The grim discovery was made by a local retained fire crew who dealt with the blaze in the vehicle shortly after 6pm yesterday evening. While gardai are investigating the circumstances of the incident, early indications are that it is not suspicious.

WESTLIFE singer Kian Egan has been crowned king of the jungle on British reality TV show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. He was victorious over fashion designer David Emanuel.

When he took his seat on the jungle throne, as his campmates looked on, Egan said they had all earned a piece of the crown.

"I don't know what to say," he said. Adding: "It's been such a team effort. Everybody in here is a king and queen." Emanuel said: "He's a great guy. He thoroughly deserves it."
