Two arrested in Tallaght murder investigation
Two men have been arrested by gardai investigating the shooting dead of David McCreevy in 2002.
McCreevy, who was known to gardai as a drugs courier, was shot dead as he emerged from a house in Tallaght.
A gunman jumped out of a van as Mc Creevy emerged from the house and walked up to him and shot him five times.
The killer then climbed onto the back of a large motorcycle which had pulled up alongside during the shooting and made his escape.
The victim was taken to the nearby Tallaght hospital was pronounced dead less than twenty minutes after the shooting.
Both men were arrested during an operation this morning by Detectives from Tallaght Garda Station and members of the Special Detective Unit.
The men are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Tallaght Garda Station.
