TV3's Cagney 'relieved' after heart scare
TELEVISION presenter Mark Cagney spoke of his relief after a health scare that caused him to be rushed to hospital.
The 56-year-old suffered chest pains at around 8am yesterday while on a break from TV3's live 'Ireland AM' show.
Concerned staff at the commercial station decided to call an ambulance and brought the presenter to Tallaght Hospital, where he was examined and underwent blood tests.
But after undergoing a series of blood tests, he was discharged at 4pm yesterday.
"All the tests were clear and it wasn't a heart attack. I want to thank everyone for their concern and want everybody to know that I'm fine and well," Mr Cagney said.
"Everyone got a bit of a fright – including Mark – but he is just fine now," a source told the Irish Independent.
