A truck driver misjudged the height of Dublin city centre bridge this evening and managed to hold up rush hour traffic.

Services were suspended for a time between Pearse Street and  Grand Canal dock after the incident. Delays  

The truck driver thought his rig would fit under the Mackem Street Bridge in Dublin2  but he miscalculated and his truck got stuck, much to the annoyance of commuters stuck behind him.

However, after a bit of twoing and froing the the driver managed to squeeze his truck out of difficulty and continued on his way.

One quick thinking commuter decided alerted the gardai to the situation
