Tributes paid to RTE broadcaster

FRIENDS have paid tribute to the poet and RTE broadcaster Pearse Hutchinson, who passed away at the weekend.

Mr Hutchinson (84), who lived in Rathgar, Dublin, and was a sub-editor with the 'Irish Press', was a regular broadcaster with RTE for over 40 years, presenting music and arts programme 'O Ro Domhnaigh' on Radio 1 in the late 1970s.

He published poems in English and Irish and translated poetry from a number of European languages.

The funeral service is at Glasnevin Crematorium at 1.30pm tomorrow.
