Tributes paid to 'much-loved' Limerick teacher who died after tragic fall

Tributes have been paid to a popular Limerick teacher who died this week following a fall last month.

Neville Atkinson (47 )died on Tuesday at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

The father-of-one had been fighting for his life since an incident at a house in Congort, Offaly on August 24.

Mr Atkinson fell from a teleporter at the house and was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont.

His 11-year-old son was also injured in the accident and taken to Tullamore hospital where his injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Villiers School Alumni and Friends Facebook page, the school in Limerick where Mr Atkinson worked, paid tribute to the "much-loved" teacher.

Mr Atkinson will repose in Maher's Funeral Home in Roscrea on Friday evening before a funeral service at St Kieran's Church in Cloughjordan on Sunday at 2pm.
