Tributes as Gogglebox Ireland fan favourite Angela dies

Angela De La Mere, fan favourite from Gogglebox Ireland sadly passed away last week.

Her family confirmed she “passed peacefully in the loving care of her family and the staff of St Francis Hospice, Raheny”.

Angela was joined on the couch for the show each week by her friend Eileen Bolger.

Viewers came to love the Michael D. Higgins tea cosy often seen on screen while the pair discussed the television.

Kite Entertainment, the company that produces the show, led in expressing their condolences on Twitter.

Kite Entertainment confirmed the news on Twitter: “Everyone at Kite and all who’ve worked on Gogglebox Ireland are saddened by the news that original cast member Angela De La Mere has passed away. Sending all our love to her family and her Goggle cohort Eileen. RIP Angela.”

Fans commented under the tweet expressing their sympathies.

One Twitter user said: “RIP Angela, may you rest in peace. We enjoyed watching you and Eileen on Gogglebox... you have a real twinkle in your eye and a bit of development. You are missed by many. Condolences to all who loved and miss you.”
