STUDENT Wayne O’Donoghue, who killed his schoolboy neighbour Robert Holohan in 2005 looked remarkably different when he attended the High Court in Dublin yesterday.

At his appeal against conviction in July 2006 he looked heavy-set and unhealthy in pictures.

Yesterday on his first media appearance three years after his release from prison, he looked slim and fit.

He was 20 when he killed Robert Holohan in a headlock and dumped his body near an isolated beach in east Cork near their Middleton homes.

He took part in the biggest search in the history of the state which lasted for eight days until the child’s body was found.

O’Donoghue was jailed for four years and released after three in 2008.

He is now in his third year of an architectural technology at Leeds Metropolitan University and it is understood that he has not just created a new life for himself – he reportedly uses the name Paddy.
