Tourism Minister says George Clooney visit here would be 'great boost'
TOURISM Minister Michael Ring has said that George Clooney would be “very welcome” to come visit his Irish ancestral home.
The Junior Minister, with responsibility for tourism, said that he would be “delighted” if the American actor was to visit Ireland with his glamorous barrister wife Amal this year.
He exclusively revealed to the Irish Independent earlier this week that he intends to holiday here later this year.
“It’d be a great boost for the country,” Minister Ring said this evening.
“His presence here in the country will help tourism figures. He is very welcome and I will be asking Tourism Ireland and Failte Ireland to give him any assistance and help that he wants and any information that he needs. We would be delighted to have him in the country.”
