The bumper sum of €160 million is up for grabs tonight, the biggest Lotto jackpot so far this year.

The gigantic sum has been rolling over since November 6.

An Irish winner of tonight's jackpot would top the country’s EuroMillions rich list, putting them ahead of Limerick native Dolores McNamara’s staggering €115 million win in July 2005.

“If you match the magic five numbers and two Lucky Stars drawn this Friday and win the estimated €160 million, you would be ranked at number 1 on Ireland’s EuroMillions rich list,” said the National Lotto.

“For your chance to take home - or share - the latest jackpot, purchase your ticket at any Lotto agent or online at by 7:30pm on Tuesday 17 November 2015.”

Ms McNamara’s €115m win wrecked the previous record of €94m held by a winning ticket from Dublin.

Other impressive Irish EuroMillions wins include a €86.7 million jackpot shared by a Dublin syndicate in September 2014, and a €15 million winning ticket bought in Castlebar April 2014.

In total, there has been seven Irish jackpot winners since the EuroMillions launched in 2004.

Elsewhere, a happy couple from Cork collected €109,920 on behalf of work colleagues from the National Lottery’s office this morning.

The winners, from last Wednesday’s draw, said they were delighted with the win.

“It’s great. We’re thrilled to bits. A good few of us are sharing this win,” said the couple, who have chosen to not be named publicly.

“It’ll all go on better Christmas presents and more fun times in the next few weeks, no doubt.

“But we’re just delighted to have won as our syndicate only began a couple of years ago," finished the happy winners before heading home to Cork.
