Toddler found alone on road

GARDAI received a frantic phone call after a two-year-old boy was found wandering alone down a busy road in the middle of the night.

Officers in Limerick city began a search for the boy's parents after horrified motorists found the youngster walking along a busy road in the Shannonside area of the city at 2am.

The youngster had climbed out of his cot and was found more than a mile from home. He was safely reunited with his parents.
