August 22, 2012: Elaine last seen at her family home.
August 24, 2012: Her car was found parked at the Shanganagh cemetery in Shankill. A missing person investigation was launched.
September 11, 2013: A council official discovered a bag of sexual items in the water of the Roundwood reservoir in Co Wicklow.
September 13, 2013: Elaine’s remains were discovered in a wooded area in Kilakee – situated on the foot of the Dublin Mountains in Rathfarnham.
September 17, 2013: Garda James O’Donoghue returned to the reservoir with the council official and discovered a crucial key fob linking the sexual items to Elaine which prompted detectives to launch a murder probe.
September 23, 2013: It’s reported gardai had established the identities of several men with whom Elaine is believed to have come into contact before she died.
October 17, 2013: A 41- year-old man is arrested at a house in Foxrock and questioned at Blackrock Garda Station.
